A British tourist has drowned while swimming at a Spanish beach while the red flag was raised.
A 77-year-old man who went into the sea at Racó beach in Cullera on Tuesday was later pulled out of the water unresponsive, according to reports.
Emergency services were alerted at 11.30am and paramedics rushed to the scene, where they performed CPR on the man for 30 minutes, but were unable to save him.
Lifeguards in the beach resort, which is south of Valencia, are said to have warned holidaymakers not to go into the sea due to strong currents.
Two other swimmers have drowned in the popular tourist resort this summer, local media reports, while another two have had to be rescued.

A 56-year-old man died on August 1 on Racó while another person drowned on the nearby San Antonio beach on July 13.
The area is said to be known for its dangerous currents.
Red flags are put out due to strong currents, high waves, or other hazardous conditions. Anyone ignoring them and entering the sea in Spain could face a fine.
