Having enjoyed a meteoric rise in his still fledgling career, Barcelona and Spain wonderkid Lamine Yamal continues to make headlines.
The 17-year-old sensation has become the face of the team, both for Barça and Spain, and as such has seen his market value shoot through the roof to €150 million.
Now, the teenage sensation has been handed another reward by La Roja.
Spain’s new No. 10
Yamal was named in the squad for Spain’s upcoming UEFA Nations League matches against Denmark and Serbia over the next week.
And earlier today, the Spanish national team confirmed that the Barcelona prodigy will be wearing the No. 10 shirt for the upcoming matches.
Yamal had been touted to take over the No. 10 at Barcelona this season but opted to take No. 17, allowing Ansu Fati to keep the iconic shirt.
Now, though, the La Masia gem has been handed the No. 10 kit by the Spanish national team.
An untouchable for manager Luis de la Fuente in the La Roja setup, Yamal has more than earned the right to wear the iconic No. 10 shirt, even if it would be for the upcoming two matches.
Meanwhile, Pau Cubarsi, who is back in the Spain squad this month, has been handed the No. 15 shirt while Pedri continues with the No. 20 kit.
