Connor named a Top 50 Professional in International Education in North America – UBNow: News and views for UB faculty and staff

Christopher Connor, vice provost for enrollment management, has been named one of the Top 50 Professionals in International Education in North America by The PIE Leadership Digest, a leading industry publication.

Connor was featured in the publication’s 50 Voices of 2024 North American Edition, which highlights experienced leaders, rising stars, change agents and policymakers from the U.S., Canada and Mexico who offer valuable insights into the international education sector.

In this special edition, Connor was recognized for his pivotal role in increasing international student enrollment at UB, including his work in supporting development of professional master’s programs that align with labor market demands. He was also acknowledged for his previous work leading creation of the SEAS 360 professional development program designed to support international students with career readiness.

Beyond his contributions at UB, Connor was recognized for being a respected voice in shaping international enrollment policies, including his service on both the IELTS USA Higher Education Advisory Council and the ETS Research Advisory Board. In these roles, he provides critical insights into higher education trends and international student assessment, further cementing his influence on policies that impact global student mobility and success.

Additionally, Connor was acknowledged for his support of the European Association for International Education as a mentor, where he assists institutions in applying the principles of Strategic Enrollment Management in the context of European Union countries. His efforts have been instrumental in guiding universities to optimize recruitment, admissions and retention strategies in line with regional educational needs and market dynamics.
