Ireland head coach Andy Farrell has named his final Ireland squad before he departs to manage the Lions 2025 tour after the Autumn Internationals.
Farrell’s squad will welcome New Zealand, Argentina, Fiji and Australia to the Aviva Stadium over the course of November where all four sides will be looking to topple Ireland’s place atop the World Rugby Rankings.
After much speculation, Farrell has appointed Caelan Doris as the new Ireland captain, succeeding Munster stalwart Peter O’Mahony who’s also in the squad.
The pair will be joined in the back row by Ulster youngster Cormac Izuchukwu whose provincial form has earned him the chance to add to his two caps.
Meanwhile, up-and-coming hotshot Sam Prendergast will be looking to make his senior Ireland debut after impressing during October’s Emerging Ireland Tour. He’ll be joined by his former Ireland U20s teammate Gus McCarthy who’s taken full advantage of Leinster’s hooker injury crisis to play himself into contention for these games.
