The Major League Baseball offseason has seen plenty of free agent players signing with new teams recently, which has kept the excitement level high.
After the signing of the top free agent Juan Soto to the New York Mets, the floodgates opened with multiple players signing with new teams shortly after.
Over the weekend, four first basemen switched teams including Christian Walker signing with the Houston Astros, Paul Goldschmidt signing with the New York Yankees, and Josh Naylor going to the Arizona Diamondbacks.
MLB Analyst Jeff Passan outlined the recent transactions on ‘X,’ and detailed the first basemen still available, but Seattle Mariners free agent Justin Turner was not happy about being left off of the list.

Turner was left off of Passan’s list of available first basemen, and showed his displeasure by replying to the post on ‘X.’
The first baseman is now 40 years old but has reportedly said he plans to play in the 2025 season.
Turner began 2024 with the Toronto Blue Jays but ended the year with the Mariners before becoming a free agent this offseason.
In 2024 combined between the Blue Jays and the Mariners, Turner played in 139 games and batted .259 with 11 home runs, 55 RBIs, and a .737 OPS.
It is unclear if Passan simply forgot to add Turner’s name or if he believed Turner wasn’t a notable available first baseman.
Turner showed that he is still a capable MLB player in 2024, and it will be interesting to see how he performs in 2025 in his age 40 season if given the chance.
