SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — As 2025 dawns on the stroke of midnight tomorrow and Tuesday offers strategy to Wednesday, tolls will rise on a number of Bay Space bridges. Tolls will rise $1 on the area’s seven state-owned bridges starting at 12 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2025, in keeping with the Bay Space Toll Authority (BATA).

The tolls are set to rise on the following bridges:
San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge
Antioch Bridge
Benicia-Martinez Bridge
Carquinez Bridge
Dumbarton Bridge
Richmond-San Rafael Bridge
San Mateo-Hayward Bridge
‘Locked door loophole’ invoice set to take impact Wednesday
Common tolls for two-axle vehicles and vans, together with bikes, will rise from $7 to $8, in keeping with BATA. Tolls for autos with three or extra axles may also rise $1 to:
$18 for 3 axles
$23 for 4 axles
$28 for 5 axles
$33 for six axles
$48 for combos with seven or extra axles
January’s toll enhance would be the third of three $1 toll will increase authorized by the state legislature in 2017 via Senate Invoice 595 and by voters via Regional Measure 3 in 2018.
Discounted tolls on the Bay Space’s state-owned bridges for qualifying carpools, bikes and clean-air autos on weekdays between 5 a.m. and 10 a.m. and three p.m. and seven p.m. will rise from $3.50 to $4. To qualify for this low cost, autos should use FasTrak to pay their tolls electronically and journey in a chosen carpool lane.
