Fans of all ages can sign up and start picking their favourite players here ahead of kick off in the 2025 Super Rugby Pacific season on Friday 14 February.
Super Rugby CEO Jack Mesley said the launch of Fantasy Super Rugby Pacific is a significant milestone for the competition, providing a new and valuable outlet for fans to engage with the players and clubs.
“All the fan feedback was telling us there was strong demand for a Fantasy product in Super Rugby Pacific, so we are delighted to have delivered it for the 2025 season,” he said.
“We’ve designed the game to cater to our most dedicated fans, while also being simple and accessible with unlimited player transfers, so even casual fans and those new to rugby can jump in and pick a team. We’re particularly excited about the unique gameplay elements called boosters, which can be used strategically to see players score huge points and teams race up the rankings.”
The premise of Fantasy Super Rugby Pacific is simple. Handed a budget of $100 million, fans build a team of 15 players who each score Fantasy points based on their on-field performance each week.
Fantasy points are awarded for positive play such as tries, conversions, tackles and offloads, and each Fantasy team’s nominated captain earns double points.
Three boosters are available for use during the season, which include the captain scoring triple points, getting to pick two captains and having an unlimited budget for one week to select the ultimate dream team.
The game allows fans to create private leagues where they can play against their mates, while also hosting open public leagues and a global leaderboard featuring every participant around the world.
Mesley believes Fantasy Super Rugby Pacific will inspire fans, new and old, to connect with more players and the clubs they represent, regardless of their geographical location or traditional allegiances.
“We are one competition featuring 11 teams and hundreds of incredible athletes from all corners of the Pacific and beyond,” he said.
“Fantasy will provide a gateway for our fans to connect with more of those athletes and the clubs they represent, to track their performances through the season, and to engage with our competition in a way they haven’t necessarily done before.”
Kiwi Adam Levy, who famously bested six million football fans around the world to win Fantasy Premier League in 2019, has shared his top three tips for Fantasy Super Rugby Pacific players as they get started.
Get together with your family, friends, workmates, sports teammates and form a private league. The best part of any fantasy game is the banter with your mates.Take a consistent approach to picking players. You may prefer to watch games and pick who looks good, pick who got points last week, use player statistics, take advice from someone you know, or go to a website or online forum. Try not to hop around between different methods – consistency works in the long run.Keep a close eye on players’ playing time. You want all your players playing as many minutes as possible. A player who has been coming off the bench may establish a place in the starting lineup, and vice versa. More time on the field means more time to get you points.
PLEASE NOTE: Caleb Clarke, Sefo Kautai, Tuna Tuitama, Jonathan Taumateine have opted out of Fantasy selection due to personal reasons
