Two adolescents, aged 14 and 15, have been brought before the court on charges of jeopardizing lives by hurling a seat over a barrier and down several floors at the Westfield shopping center in East London.

At the youth court session held at Stratford Magistrates’ Court, magistrate Aneeta Prem postponed the hearing until May 21, with no pleas submitted, as both boys’ parents required interpreters.

The minors, whose identities are protected by law, face allegations of acting recklessly in a manner that could endanger another person’s life, in addition to damaging a seat valued at £500. They have been released on bail.

These charges stem from an incident that took place at the shopping center in Stratford on March 1.

The conditions of their bail stipulate that they must adhere to a home curfew, refrain from contacting one another, and avoid entering the shopping center.
