Senate Majority Chief John Thune (R-S.D.) mentioned on Monday that he’s open to President Trump’s name to cancel the August recess as a part of the GOP’s push to shortly verify his nominees.
Thune informed reporters he was contemplating the transfer, alleging Democrats broke precedent by not permitting the expeditious affirmation of any of Trump’s nominees.
“We’re thinking about it. We want to get as many [nominations] through the pipeline as we can,” Thune mentioned on the Capitol, including that it might be “nice to have” Democrats “act more according to historical precedents when it comes to this.”
