President Trump mentioned Friday the U.S. is positioning two nuclear submarines in “appropriate regions” close to Russia, a transfer he blamed on threatening rhetoric from former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, who stays a high Kremlin adviser.
Trump cited in a Reality Social put up what he referred to as “highly provocative statements” from Medvedev and mentioned the submarines had been “just in case these foolish and inflammatory statements are more than just that.”
In a rhetorical tit for tat this week, Trump advised Medvedev in a Reality Social put up Thursday to “watch his words,” calling Russia and India “dead economies.”
Medvedev responded with a Telegram put up referencing the Soviet doomsday plan referred to as the “dead hand” wherein lower-level officers might set off a nuclear response if its leaders had been taken out.
On Reality Social on Friday, Trump expressed hope that the matter wouldn’t escalate additional, whilst he repositioned nuclear belongings nearer to Russia.
