President Trump on Monday celebrated the choice by a West Level alumni group to cancel an occasion to honor the actor Tom Hanks for his help of the navy and veterans.
“Our great West Point (getting greater all the time!) has smartly cancelled the Award Ceremony for actor Tom Hanks. Important move!” Trump wrote in a put up on Fact Social. “We don’t need destructive, WOKE recipients getting our cherished American Awards!!! Hopefully the Academy Awards, and other Fake Award Shows, will review their Standards and Practices in the name of Fairness and Justice.”
The West Level Affiliation of Graduates had introduced in June plans to honor Hanks with the Sylvanus Thayer Award, which it says is given annually to people who exemplify the West Level motto of “Duty, Honor, Country.”
