Russian skier **[Saveliy Korostelyov](https://www.saveliykorostelyov.com)** shared his thoughts on his struggles with the descents during the World Cup stage in Davos, Switzerland, for the 2025/2026 season.
“I struggled with the descents because I’m not accustomed to racing on such slopes. There were many gentle sections, and we are not used to training on those. I needed to focus more on the flatter parts of the descents. The run to the stadium was quite challenging; I didn’t adapt to it well. Speeds of 50-60 km/h with ice on the turns, and a series of zigzag turns every 5 to 10 meters. You can take those risks at the Olympics.”
**”What are your plans?”**
“I won’t push hard from the start at the ‘Tour de Ski,’ like I did in Kazan.”
**”Are you prepared for the uphill race?”**
“I’m not sure,” Korostelyov told Match TV.
