Former head coach of Orenburg and Dynamo Moscow, **Marcel Lichka**, shared his thoughts on **Roland Gusev**, who was recently appointed as the head coach of the white-and-blues for the remainder of the current season. Gusev was part of Lichka’s coaching staff at Dynamo.
“I believe that everything he expressed after my departure and after Karpin’s exit was driven by emotions. I had no issues with him. He can call me anytime, and I’d be pleased. Everyone in my staff had the opportunity to voice their opinions regarding the lineup and other matters. It’s crucial to have team members who can speak openly with you. However, the final decision was mine; I justified my disagreements or aligned with alternative views when I saw fit. Roland, Mario, and Ade always had the chance to contribute their ideas.
Now, Roland will be responsible for everything: the team, the locker room, and the medical staff. The pressure will be on him to deliver results in every match. Being an assistant and being the head coach are two very different roles. I wish Roland all the best in his efforts to elevate Dynamo as high as possible in the standings. He has everything he needs for success. He knows his players well, and they are a solid group,” Lichka’s words were reported by the publication “In the World of Sports.”
