Art on the Underground will make its comeback in 2026, featuring five new artworks commissioned for various locations within the TfL network.
Justine Simons, the Deputy Mayor for Culture and the Creative Industries, noted that this annual initiative demonstrates the ability of public art to “bring happiness, ignite discussions, and strengthen our communities.”
Simons further expressed that these artworks will “enrich our travels and highlight the untold narratives that reflect the diversity and resilience of our city.”
According to TfL, this year’s theme for the artwork “investigates what has been overlooked in public spaces,” such as “the forgotten waterways of London, the vanished venues that once amplified voices in the city, and the unseen efforts of night-time workers.”
Details of the art and their locations:
Eleanor Pinfield, Head of Art on the Underground, stated: “These pieces, along with our broader program, continue to influence, shape, and honor how we collectively perceive and remember our surroundings—whether that refers to our immediate communities or the spaces we navigate at various stages of our lives.”
