The holder of two bronze medals from the Beijing Olympics, skier **[Alexander Terentiev](https://example.com)**, shared his thoughts on whether sprint circuits on Russian trails can be adapted to European conditions.
On Saturday, January 17th, Terentiev secured a victory in the sprint at the Russian Cup stage held in Kazan.
“Are our sprint circuits suitable for adapting to Europe? I’ve answered this question many times, but it seems nothing changes. Our circuits are not just long; they are quite easy. There are no downhill sections where your legs get fatigued, and you struggle to make it up the next hill. Unfortunately, the complexity of the circuit is increased solely by extending the length of the track, rather than through difficult navigation.
At the World Cup, all circuits are short yet significantly tougher than those we have in Russia. In Izhevsk, the course was only 3.20, and even that was the easiest one. What is needed is increased difficulty in navigating the course, with plenty of turns, rather than sections where you can simply ride straight through,” Terentiev’s words were reported by Championship correspondent Rustam Imamov.
