Southwest Las Vegas — Authorities launched a homicide investigation after a young child called 911 on Wednesday morning to report his mother injured, leading police to two dead adults inside a home.[1]

The emergency call came in around 7:20 a.m. from the 8600 block of Rowland Bluff Avenue, near Durango Drive and Mountains Edge Parkway.[1] The child, believed to be under 10 years old, told dispatchers his mother needed help.[2]
Officers arrived quickly at the quiet southwest valley neighborhood. They soon determined the situation involved more than one victim. The child remained on scene as first responders assessed the horror unfolding inside the residence.[3]

Police found a man and a woman, both in their late 20s or early 30s, suffering from life-threatening injuries. Medical personnel declared both dead at the scene. The woman was identified as the child’s mother.[2][3]
