Las Vegas – Del Sol claimed a strong start in the Class 4A girls basketball Southern Region playoffs by defeating Clark 62-50 on Monday night.[1]

Ricana Taylor dominated the paint for the Dragons. She recorded 17 points and 15 rebounds in the victory. Sabrina Stewart contributed significantly with 9 points and a remarkable 16 assists.
Del Sol improved to 26-4 with the win over the 9-12 Clark Chargers. The Dragons now advance to the quarterfinals. They will face Losee on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
Girls Basketball Delivers Lopsided Wins
Several teams posted impressive margins in the first round. Losee crushed Cimarron-Memorial 69-17 behind Jordynn Riggins’ 15 points, including five 3-pointers.
Mojave routed Sunrise Mountain 65-20 and hosts Desert Oasis next. Desert Oasis handled Basic 69-30, with Alyssa Atkins-Dowd notching 10 points and 11 steals, while Jasmine Bermudez added 13 points and eight steals.
Foothill beat Spring Valley 72-43, led by Stephanie Ezugha’s 20 points. Mater East topped Palo Verde 65-28, powered by Amija Macon’s 28 points and Myla Faught’s 17.
Sierra Vista overwhelmed Green Valley 72-14, with Donnayja Gibson scoring 21 points. Las Vegas edged Arbor View 62-52, where Sariyah Johnson grabbed 22 points and 23 rebounds, and Jordan Sequeira tallied 21 points, four steals, and three blocks.
