Colorado State jumped ahead with an 11-2 spurt to open the contest, capitalizing on early foul trouble that sent the Rebels to the bonus just six minutes in. UNLV responded with nine straight points, capped by a Dra Gibbs-Lawhorn 3-pointer that gave the home team a brief five-point advantage midway through the first half.
