The first period offered few scoring chances as both teams traded perimeter shots. Edmonton struck the post twice early, with Kasperi Kapanen and Evan Bouchard rattling iron, while Vegas generated pressure without breakthroughs. Adin Hill stood tall for the Golden Knights, denying a Zach Hyman backhand and a Connor McDavid toe-drag attempt to preserve the deadlock.[3]
