Mike Bindrup, the program’s community and economic development coordinator, compares the initiative to an AA gathering. Participants report weekly wins and setbacks, fostering group accountability amid business challenges. Tears sometimes flow, but peers and mentors provide unwavering support. Since its 2024 launch, the program trained 102 entrepreneurs.[1][2]
The structure begins with Biz101, a 10-week course available in English and Spanish. Open to those in planning stages, newly licensed ventures, or early operations, it levels the playing field with core knowledge. Biz101 centers on the business model canvas, a one-page tool outlining nine key blocks from value propositions to revenue streams.
