Las Vegas – The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority reported a robust increase in group bookings during the early months of 2026. Its destination sales team confirmed 221 future events set for the city, marking a 58 percent rise compared to the previous season.[1] This activity promises to generate 480,000 hotel room nights, with 38 percent of the events new to Las Vegas. The development arrives as the local tourism sector seeks to counter recent declines in overall visitation.
Impressive Gains in Convention Bookings
The LVCVA’s sales force achieved these results in February and March alone. Much of the momentum stemmed from repeat customers who view Las Vegas as their preferred destination for meetings and events. Chief Sales Officer Vanessa Claspill highlighted this loyalty during a board meeting, noting that retention played a key role in the period’s success.[1]
Sales representatives also captured business from competing cities, including Chicago. This competitive edge helped elevate the total. The bookings reflect a strategic push amid broader economic pressures, such as rising gasoline prices and waning consumer confidence.
